You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
Keeping up with the Jones’s’…..does that sound familiar to you?
It probably does.
In today’s society, we are brought up in a world where imagery and advertising WANTS us to constantly want more and wants us to consume more product.
This is not a Godly standard of thinking, but a very worldly one.
God tells us not to covet and desire something that our neighbor has.
It’s okay to want nice things and to want better for your family, but when it gets to the point of lustful desire for these things or desiring the status that comes with these things, that is where the problem begins.
We should find contentment in the place that we are.
God brings us all through many stages and steps on our journeys, and we are not expected to be in the same place at the same time.
I would like to encourage you to find peace and contentment through gratitude.
A daily practice of gratitude and thankfulness will open doors to more blessings than you would believe!
- Prayer: God I am so grateful for my special and unique journey that you are guiding me on. I am so thankful for the place I am and the things you are teaching me in this place. I also look forward to the future walking with you and the many steps that will come in due time. Thank you for guiding me into my best life! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
